Our flagship leadership programme

"Leadership in Context" is a highly effective development programme that takes place ‘in the context’ of the specific challenges facing leaders.

Leadership in Context is founded on clear principles and a pragmatic understanding of the real challenges facing managers, rather than theoretical models of leadership. It is a coaching based approach delivered by business consultants, all themselves experienced operators, and the programme has rigid connectivity with the business.

We develop leaders that can:

  • understand the strategic context for their actions
  • translate leadership development learning back into their business
  • accept ‘devolved’ leadership responsibilities
  • deliver consistent results under pressure
  • communicate performance demands to others in a compelling way
  • build team motivation and commitment
  • overcome ‘performance interference’

How do we do this?

We develop leaders by changing behaviour. We start by creating secure, confidential environments where leaders can experience the pressures of leadership in order to learn and develop new leadership skills.

Our proven and effective approach to leadership development is based on an accelerated learning cycle. Whilst detailed design will always reflect client needs, it will follow a Think, Do, Review cycle:

  • Think:   Organisational needs analysis, programme design and individual analytics
  • Do:   Delivery of core and supporting programme content (usually in short workshop format)
  • Review:   Individual follow-up and coaching

Our programme content typically consists of a core workshop supported by mandated and elective modules to suit organisational and individual requirements.

Core Programme

Our core programme solutions builds on the three core leadership outputs of setting direction, creating alignment and building commitment. The core workshop acts as a foundation for the elective programme and both are reinforced by regular review sessions and participant coaching. Typical content modules include: 

  • Understanding personal leadership preferences
  • The impact of leadership styles
  • Developing a High Performance Culture
  • Motivation and effective leadership under pressure

In each of these areas we provide simple tools to help leaders to deliver effective results whatever the circumstances and constant feedback and support from facilitators to encourage people to get the most from the learning.

Supporting Programme

Supporting programme content is usually designed to address specific skill-gaps and can be configured to deliver a broad range of linked topics including:

  • Communicating with Impact
  • Direction setting and reinforcing accountability
  • Leading Projects 
  • Workplace ‘action-learning’ assignments
  • Mentoring and Coaching 
  • Building High Performance Relationships
  • Dealing with conflict

We deliver our workshops using a variety of interactive techniques including music, experiential activity, role play, video and case studies. We deliver this balanced, multi-sensory approach using highly experienced facilitators that themselves have first hand experience of leading teams in high pressure environments.
